M.  He called me here at work and said that SIL called FIL because he wanted to hear from her what MIL said, then FIL and MIL to "confront" her on the situation and MIL lost it and is now heated at SIL.  FIL wants to have a "family sit down" and talk to MIL.  M said if his mom starts yelling (which she is famous for) and fighting, etc. we will leave, go home and lock the door.

Good plan.  I'm wishing you the best of luck with this family sit down, does sound a little more like WW3 than a nice family chat though.  Ugh, I don't envy you.
