DS's 1st birthday is next month, but there will be about 15-20 kids in attendance, ranging from six months to about seventeen years old. The party is in our home. It will be too cold to have it outside. I would like to come up with some games for them to play, in order to keep them from getting bored. Any ideas?
At a recent family party, they had a pinata and that went over very well, but I'm afraid to have kids swinging at things inside my house.
Re: Games for birthday party
You could do a pinata with strings at the bottom. Of course, the entertainment factor is short if you go that route.
I'm trying to think of activities that would work for your diverse age range:
*What if you have a cupcake-decorating bar. Provide plain cupcakes and kids (and adults) could add frosting, sprinkles, M&Ms, jelly beans, choc chips, etc. Not sure if you think this would be too messy.
*Or what if you set up a photo booth area with props?
*Karaoke?
HTH!
There isn't a lot that will interest all of those age groups at once.
What about a scavenger hunt with clues for certain little prizes along the way? Older kids can help little ones read the clues/find the prizes.
Is there an older kid that you can get to face paint/baloon twist who will be at the party anyway and you can pay to enteratin the little guys for a bit?
