BC Question!

First of all, I'm new here.. hi! =)?

?

Secondly, I have a question. ?I'm on Loestrin, and I never got my period during my first pack. ?However, I started my period on the last day of the third week of my second pack.. 4 days before I was supposed to take the placebos! Is this normal?? I'm getting married next Saturday, and I'm freaking out a little.. I need to be sure this crap works! lol I'm a virgin, and this is my first time taking BC.. Has anyone else ever had this happen??

Re: BC Question!

  • If you just started taking birth control it can take up to 3-6 cycles before your period will become regular. Spotting and abnormal bleeding are both normal. As long as you are taking the pill everyday around the same time every day you are fine.
  • Ditto PP about it taking a few months to regulate your cycles.  Just keep taking it at the same time each day.  Good luck at your wedding!

  • Okay, awesome! Thanks a ton.. Makes me feel much better!?
  • You can make a phone call to your physician to double check, but as long as you've taken it every day around the same time (don't deviate more than half an hour... set an alarm if necessary) for the first month you should be fine.  Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.  As you're a virgin though, I would recommend taking along some lube.  Most KY brands are good.  Flavored ones can be more fun.  But it might help the first time or two until ya'll get more foreplay practice in.  Congrats again!
