What happened, Curbside?

Big Smile I wish I could post a picture of our victory, but it seems all the pictures are of Vasquez and I think he's a douchenozzle. Plus I can't be that smug considering you guys spanked us earlier this year. But I love how MD has consistently been one of the few teams that has the ability to knock Duke down from the top.  Fear the turtle, yo!

Re: What happened, Curbside?

  • Oh man, what a game. At least Duke was able to stay in it until the last minute or so. But I'm gonna need the MD fans not to rush the court every time they beat us--MD was also ranked, so it's not like it was a humongous upset! Terp, if you could pass this along to your fellow MD fans, that would be great:

  • Completely butting in (Sorry!) but "Go Terps!!"
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • Lol, if rushing the court was just it for MD fans. Winning big games (or beating Duke) also includes setting fires on the road adjacent to campus, cops in riot gear on horses, and in one case, some sort of crazy looking tank. We're klassy like that.

Totally butting in here--but Duke_girl, that made me both nod my head in agreement, laugh and cringe a little.  As the board's lone Hoosier representative, I will apologize for contributing to the over-storming of courts.  It happens WAY too much these days.  C'mon guys.  We're all talking about some of the more "elite" NCAA basketball programs here--it's not a "historical event" to beat a conference foe.  Storming the court MIGHT be OK after you win the championship...but yeah, that's about it.

I have a friend who graduated from MD in '06 and she's told me how crazy things would get after games! She called the post-game celebrations "riots," so I guess that matches up with your description of the cops in riot gear. Crazy!

  • Yeah, they are definitely referred to as riots! After my freshman year there, they made all the fraternity houses take all furniture off their front porches b/c they would be used as tender.
  • At least it was a good game this time.Congrats on the win.

I agree that the storming the court has gotten out of hand (not just at MD, but in general). The second place team in the conference beating the first place team does not seem court storming worthy.

I heard they set a tree on fire last night and at least 27 people were arrested.
