Dog poo composting and well water
I live on the side of the mountian and have well water/ septic system. Before I go and dig a hole for a dog composting pail, is this even safe to have with well water?
Also, our house is in the middle of our property, with our property sloping from east to west, so the front yard (where the septic is) is the most downhill. Where should I put the dog compost pail, below our septic (where it would not get into our well but would our neighbors) or above our well and septic?
Re: Dog poo composting and well water
Hmm...not sure what the geology is like in your area but do you know how deep your well is? Our well is 400' deep in the bedrock aquifer, so surface runoff does not affect it much.
Best bet would be near your septic (field)...your stuff is leaching from there anyway.
