Re: What are you planning on growing this summer?
I'm trying to figure out what to plant right now, I know I need a lot of herbs and I would really like to plant some strawberries but they take two years to fruit and we are in a rental.
Last year we planted way too much zuchinni and squash it almost overtook the garden and I needed a lot more herbs,
So my plan right now is:
Zuchinni
Squash
Tomatoes
onions
peppers
Rosemary
Basil
Parsley
Cilantro
Sweet Lavender
Tomatoes, basil, oregano, peppers have all been started with seeds.
I also have seeds for corn and green beans, but those say to sow directly in the ground.
I'll probably have:
Zucchini
Summer Squash
Broccoli
Strawberries
Lettuce
Grape tomatoes
Dill
Chives
I might throw some other stuff in there... but at this point, I'm not sure what that is, yet. Gardening stuff is on my radar for this weekend, though!
I need to plant a lot of herbs. I already have parsley and dill in one pot. I'd like to grow rosemary, mint, lettuce, chives and tomatoes.
This is a great thread; a good friend just posted on how she created an organic victory garden in her small backyard. Check it out here: http://www.hotcookin.net/2010/03/05/why-an-organic-vegetable-backyard-garden-yields-tabbouli/
