It's National Grammar Day!
I found some idiotic article bitching about how we shouldn't focus on grammar, because it's all niggling nitpicky rules that don't apply to anyone.
The author is apparently unfamiliar with the internet, self-published books, professionally published books, trailer parks, or, really, anywhere inhabited by people.
He also tried to claim that "you and I" after a preposition is an American idiom. NO, IT IS NOT. IT IS WRONG. Next thing, "very unique" will be an idiom, and therefore impervious to correction. Over my dead body.
Re: It's National Grammar Day!
I fear a country that ignores grammar. The end result would be professional documents written in text speak.
Or everyone would write like Dna. **shudders**
