Ok, so in our car search, Im seeing that you have to pay tax, title and doc fees here in this state.  I know the price varies by the price of the car, but do you mind sharing what it is you paid out of pocket to the dealorship? I'm wondering if it is going to be a ton of money or not? The registration fee is going to be high enough... YUCK! The sales tax is soooo high in this state!

I bought a new Nissan Rogue last May from a dealership and we financed the whole thing. We did not pay anything out of pocket. We didnt pay anything until the first car payment 2 months later. I think the tax, title, and registration gets factored into the whole car price at then end of the purchase when you are meeting with the finance person. You could probably pay it all up front if you wanted though...hope this helps!

I bought a 2007 Chevy Cobalt in Dec. 2007, and I did not have any out of pocket expenses - everything was rolled into the loan.  My first payment was due at the end of January.

We bought a 2007 Acura RDX about 2 years ago or something. Anyways, it was about $3k for all the title, registration, tax, etc. I couldn't tell you how much it was individually but like pp mentioned, it was one big sum.

The only saving grace is that each year, when our cars depreciate, DH and I pay a little less on registration costs.

I bought my Scion in Avondale, and while financing it found out they have the lowest sales tax in the county.  We saved about 500.00 from buying there.
