In August we moved from WA to MI for DH's job. Several of the people in the company have also moved from out of state and we are all without families, etc.
In December I initiated a monthly dinner party for all of us displaced to get together and start putting roots down. We have had one once a month since then, except for March when half the out of towners will be gone for training.
We call it the BYOP (Bring your own plate) party. Before we moved I sold all our dishes and we have just been using our 4 camping dishes. Not enough for a dinner party. So, everyone brings their own plate, we eat, throw the plates in the dishwasher, play games, eat dessert, and then they can load up their plates with left overs.
We provide the main course and then everyone else potlucks it for the sides, etc.
So here is my question (sorry so long) - I don't know what to do for April. Any suggestions?
So far we have had...
Dec - Italian Sausage and Spaghetti
Jan - Baked Potato Bar
Feb - Taco Bar.
Summer time will be easy - bbq all the time.
Help!
Oh - we generally have about 16 people total.
Re: Monthly Dinner Party
Turkey, ham (on sale in a lot of stores), a pork tenderloin, beef tips
I had an impromptu dinner party a few weeks ago. We had turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, and salad. People loved it. Loved it.
Something St. Pat's Day related - corned beef and cabbage, rubens.
