Pet Friendly Lawn Care Products?

Since DH and I didn't have a dog this time last year, we didn't worry about what we put on our yard. Now that we have Tera, we want to make sure we don't use anything that could harm her.

Do you know of any pet safe:

Grass seed

Yard Fertilizer

And other things of the sort? I'm looking around online, but wanted to know if you ladies use anything in particular that you like, or have had bad experiences with.

Turfgrass seed will be just seed and no problem for pets. There is a coated seed but I doubt that's an issue either. When it comes to fertilizers, I'd probably go with a liquid one so that it soaks in quicker. Less chance for pup to wind up eating fertilizer granules. Even with granular fertilizers, I don't think pup will be going around licking all of the yard. So, you should be fine either way.

The only problem with seed is that it gets caught in their paws and can cause swelling. They lick it and sometimes becomes infection.

For fertilizer, see if you can get something called Turf Trust in your area.

It's fantastic and won't hurt the environment with run off.
