Menu help for a girls night

I'm hosting a girls night at the end of this month.  We are starting at my house and then moving on to a bowling alley/entertainment center.

I'm clueless on what to serve.  There will be 8 girls and I would like to serve something where I am not constantly at the oven while entertaining.

I know 2 people do not like seafood.

  • Well, since spring will be coming on at the end of the month, why not set up an elaborate salad bar with some fancy toppings, dressings, different breads and crackers, some fruits and cheeses, lots of good drinks, and a few  small desserts, like iced brownies, chocolate covered strawberries, and lemon bars.
  • Try to keep it simple with things you can assemble ahead of time. Cheese & crackers, deviled eggs, veggie platter with dip, fruit platter. Maybe an easy punch recipe so you can enjoy yourself without always playing server. I usually mix ginger ale, fruit punch, cranberry juice & vodka. It makes a nice looking girly drink & you can just put it together quick in a punch bowl or pitcher. Have fun!

  • Pasta bar, baked potato bar, taco or fajita bar...you get the picture, = )

I personally would serve a salad and some sort of pasta that I am able to pre make that can be served at room temperature.  Not a pasta salad, but an actual pasta dish....or a lasagna.  It can be assembled ahead of time and baked right before you serve it.

  • I love the idea of a big salad with baked macaroni.  It's super easy and you don't have to be in the kitchen much.  I also have a whole girls night section of my blog if you need more inspiration.
