Big change...

Just this weekend, a couple we know (C used to work with the husband, and they are friendly) contacted us to say that their new nanny bailed on them to watch their 3.5 month old and 2 year old once the school year starts again (wife is a teacher). They wanted to know if I would be interested, made me an offer, and I accepted. I am putting in my 2 weeks notice at work today! This is a huge, crazy change that happened whip-lash fast! We now need to buy a car for me (thank god C got that sign-on bonus), I'm putting in my notice at work, and I'll be starting probably the second week of September. I still kind of can't believe it's happening!

That is awesome!  That is how we found our PT afternoon sitter. We called a friend who'd fawned over the kids at a picnic and asked if she was interested. 2 years later she is still with us - and the kids love playing with "Twati" (Tracy)

Thanks everyone! Sam - I bet it was the same person I am going to work for - she is a teacher in the same town as you :-) As for the car, we don't want a second car payment (don't want to interfere with the baby saving!) so we're just going to buy some mid-90s Toyota/Honda 4 door type car and pay cash and be done with it. It won't be sexy, but it will get me from A to B :-)

how funny brit.  I totally told Sue when I saw the posting from school that I felt really bad for her.  I looked at the posting again and I don't know her since she is an 8th grade english teacher at another school.  But I am sure I have been in many a meeting with her.  Small world huh.  Hope you like being a nanny.  I really enjoy it during the summer so much fun and good practice too!
