DH and i watched food, inc. today

we have had it in the house for a couple of weeks, but i told DH i would not watch it without him because i wanted him to see why certain things were so important to me. he was disgusted by the business practices of CAFOs and monsanto. i think he will be more will to go to farmer's markets and a local butcher now.

oh, and he thought farmer's markets and the amish market was the same thing. so when i asked if he wanted to start going to farmer's markets he says "i thought you didn't want to go to those". i guess i have a lot of work to do on him.

oh, and it is a great movie. def. deserving of the oscar nomination even though i do not think it is going to win. i predict the cove.

Re: DH and i watched food, inc. today

  • We just watched Food Inc. for the 3rd time last night...haha. We keep showing it to people we know.

The first time I watched it I was horrified because I had *no clue* about any of this stuff!

This last time we were eating burgers from our local organic free range farm.

    A lot better this go-around. : )

I hope it wins an Oscar!!!

  • We just watched it on Saturday night and made a pact to only buy local meats now. I even bought the ground beef and eggs this afternoon. I am going to try to get the chicken, sausage and bacon tomorrow. We're having leftover's for dinner tonight, and we're supposed to use what we have left in our freezer first but I really don't want to. I want to use the local grass fed beef tomorrow night! Can you blame me? Also, we're going to read and re-read (because I already read part of it) "The Omnivore's Dilemna". To top it off my parents are coming over for dinner this Saturday and I want to try to convince them to switch too with non other serving them the good stuff :-)
