Re: How was your weekend?
My weekend was really nice.
Friday - K called from work and said she wanted to go out for dinner. I picked her up and we went for Mexican food. I had a very yummy virgin mango margarita :-)
Saturday - My co-workers threw us a baby shower. I already AW'd it on LGBT.
Sunday - I got up at 8:30 (early for a weekend), started cleaning the house and started laundry I picked up after the dogs in the yard (this was huge!) as the snow was all melted so I couldn't put it off any longer. I then gave each dog a bath and finally got myself out the door around 1:30pm. I ran around town returning things, buying things, and doing our shopping. Then it was home to pass out from exhaustion. I honestly did way more than I can in one day. It felt great to have stuff done but my feet are still sore.
It was nice! We both took off Friday and basically took a long, relaxing weekend. Did errands, groceries, game night with the neighbors...planned selling the house. Nothing super exciting but good overall.
we had a nice weekend, which is making today even more painful.
Friday: Sprout went to my gym and we met up with friends at a new resturant. Food and drinks were delish and it was a blast to catch up with them. Rosebud was a dream baby and even though it was definitely not a kid-friendly place, all the staff got a kick out of her.
Saturday: Family day at our local farm team baseball stadium. Got to tour the stadium, Sprout got to go in a bounce house, and they served both breakfast and lunch...all for free! In the afternoon we went to the park and in the evenign my parent's came over to celebrate my mom's bday. We ended up getting her a cell phone as her "real" gift and a car seat as her non-birthday gift and she was thrilled with both (though my brother and I are way too much alike because he also got her a cell phone!).
Sunday: Another gorgeous day! Went to church then over to my parents' house...had lunch then went for a really nice hike. Sprout had a late nap and woke up in a terribly cranky mood. We spent the afternoon/evening managing poor behavior (grrr. have i mentioned how much i despise sunday evenings??) but we did get out to the grocery store and a quick visit to Andrea's grandmother.

Saturday morning I was making turkey chili at 7:30am to take to a party. We ran a few errands and then met a friend and her family/friends at a bar and hung out/had a a couple of pre-noon beers/ate and then watched the St. Patty's Day parade. My kids LOVE parades. Went home and played outside before heading to a party hosted by one of L's co-workers. I hate making small talk and always feel like I am 12 years old. The boys had a fabulous time (there were 5 kids there from 2y-4y and the host has a 7y son who had a crap load of Matchbox cars which made Carter a happy boy.) It was so nice to be at someone else's house and not have to follow them around every second to make sure they wouldn't break anything/fall down the stairs/etc. We didn't leave till 10pm and the kids were out immediately.
Sunday we went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast and then grocery shopping. As we were getting out of the van at home, Carter somehow fell out of the van onto his face (L was getting groceries from the back and I was looking under the car for a mysterious rattling so neither of us saw it.) But there was a bloody nose and a huge bruise on his forehead. He seemed fine once he got cleaned up and had some Tylenol. We finished getting our tax stuff together for our accountant while they napped and went to the playground when they got up. It was so nice out. By evening L and I were exhausted and grumpy. We tried to watch Pocahontas with the kids - but they weren't interested. L went to bed as soon as the kids did and I tried to watch the Oscars. But by 9:30, they'd only given out 1 major award so I gave up and went to bed.
This morning sucked and I wished I had gone with my first thought this morning and called out of work.
It was great! The weather was so amazing here, and we spent the weekend at our new house.
My family came by and we got lots accomplished. Not all of this was done this weekend (we got started last week), but as of now, the living room walls are painted and floor mopped; half bath cleaned and painted; dining room painted; basement floor mopped; bedroom carpets shampooed; upstairs bath wallpaper removed and walls prepped for painting; paint colors chosen and paint purchased for bedrooms; paint colors chosen for kitchen and hall. We felt very accomplished by the time we left the house yesterday afternoon! Thank goodness we've had so much help from my parents.
When we got back to our apartment yesterday from the house, we took a nap and then were able to get some more packing done. I packed all my clothes except for outfits for the week! It felt so good to get that done!

Sorry you had such a crappy morning, chicakdee!
This weekend a mixed bag. We were both a bit grumpy and PMSy. I came home Friday and found the kitchen floor flooded and a leak from the ceiling. Not good. We couldn't figure out where the leak was coming from and the landlord suggested shutting off the toilet which meant we couldn't use our main bathroom. I consoled myself by staying up way too late watching Criminal Minds reruns.
Saturday we had a lazy morning and met with the celebrant while our neighbor let the plumber in. E had found the leak that morning, but the sexist plumber didn't believe her and spent an hour searching for it before "discovering" it right where we said it was. It's turns out our cheap landlord used substandard pipes, which failed and now all have to be replaced. Grrr. The plumber replaced the leaking pipe but now the whole ceiling will have to be ripped out and the pipes changed.
When I have a short weekend because of work I have an irritating habit of spending my one free day stressing about how I need to relax...which of course prevents me from actually relaxing. That's pretty much what happened. Sunday I went off to a conference which was actually less painful than expected. Hurrah.
