I ate a pineapple this weekend.
Whole Foods had "whole trade" (their fair trade), organic, naturally ripened pineapples so I got one, and I swear it was SO good! It was as good as pineapples in Hawaii at the roadside knife-lady stands.
Re: I ate a pineapple this weekend.
I would if I could!!
I LOVE Hawaii. I've never done the Dole Plantation or any touristy stuff though.
Well I'd never give Dole my $ anyway!
Is it really ice cream? Like with milk? And pineapple? That sounds so strange!
What is it with Hawaii and ice cream? I had the hardest time getting a smoothie without ice cream in it near the beach.
lol, thank you!
Well I have been very strict about local and seasonal, and I don't want to be hypocritical, or dishonest!
The pineapple is happening more often. Tropical fruit has to be imported to me no matter what season anyway, and at least its organic and fairly gotten.
The tomatoes are not happening again. That tomato sucked. I can wait for local delicious ones!
LOL. I did, too! I couldn't resist when I was at WF.
hilarious.
i have not had a good pineapple since i was in africa. i might have to make a trip to WF.
LMAO!!!
5 star response!
Seriously y'all, if you see the organic naturally-ripened pineapples, get one! (PS not sure if you know this but to pick good pineapples, look for the rings to be even and large around the bottom, and the middle fronds in the stem should pull out fairly evenly)
I'm buying more pineapples. I think if I just keep my diet 90% or so local-ish, that's pretty darn good!
