special occassion - what to do?
our anniversary, and both b-days are in the next month. What restaurants and things to do would you recommend in/around the city? we're in the burbs but would drive anywhere for something fun or romantic. we're on a budget, so it can't be more than $100 for each occassion. any great ideas?

sounds like we have the same situation with birthdays and the anniversary! my birthday, dh's birthday, and our anniversary are all within 2 weeks of eachother in late June/early July, so we face this every year, too!
We tend to lump all of the events together and either go on a small trip or out to a really nice dinner. If you have $100 for each occasion, $300 would get you an amazing dinner out in Chicago, perhaps even with some funds leftover for after dinner drinks somewhere, a carriage ride, or ice cream while watching the fireworks (if its before labor day). I have my favorites in my bio, but I really love MK, Spring, Custom House, and NaHa. We also recently went to Sepia and LOVED it. There is also a brand new, very trendy bar in streeterville called C-View , that has an open air deck on the 29th floor of the Affina Hotel. Its a fun bar with amazing views if the weather is nice.
