Starting seeds inside question
So I have read you can use a flourescent light to start seeds. We have them in our basement. But my question is how far away from the light do the pots have to be to germinate? If I set them on on a shelf that is directly under the light it is probably a 4 foot distance. Is that too much? If you can't tell I am a newbie to growing my own seeds indoors so any insight is appreciated!
Re: Starting seeds inside question
You need them to be no more than 4 INCHES away from the plants. But,you can put the lights on chains so that you can raise/lower them as the plants grow.
Also, you'll want a "warm white" and a "cool white" bulb in the fixture to get the full spectrum of light.
