MIni Greenhouse Help

I bought one of those mini greenhouses with the 72 seed starter things and planted them with the kids on Friday. I closed teh lid and went to check it today and many of the seeds have sprouted and some had even started to get cobwebby mold growing on or around them. The seedlings are a sickly yellow color instead of a green ...

My question is, should I trash these and start again or are these seedlings salvageable with a little TLC. Do you think they will bear any vegetables this season?

Thanks

Re: MIni Greenhouse Help

  • As soon as the first seeds spout, you are supposed to vent the lid and then remove it once most have spouted. I would take the lid off, give them lots of light, and just see how they do. You should be able to tell in the next week or so it they will recover ok or if you need to try again.

  • put cinnamon on the mold ones...it's antifungal & the mold is caused by a fungus.

And, I agree with pp: take the lid off as soon as they sprout.

  • Thanks laides, I'll put cinnamon on them in the AM. I put them in the shade for an hour this afternoon and have the lid off of them now.

I meant to take the lid off when they sprouted, but I forget about them for a few days :)

Hope I'm a better gardener when they are in the ground.
