I suck at life

Well, okay, this isn't that bad...but I made myself so mad today.

I forgot AGAIN that I had signed up for auto pay on my large student loan.  Last month I did the same thing - paid it early (and more than the min.) and then saw another payment come out on the due date.  So I paid more than double in Feb.  I meant to make a mental note not to do that again in March.

Well.  I did. 

I guess my brain is subconsciously telling me to pay down those suckers.  At least we keep a huge buffer in the checking account!

Anyone else being stupid today??

Don't feel bad! A couple of weeks ago I accidentally scheduled a large withdrawal from my checking to my ING savings... twice. Needless to say, I bounced a couple of things. It was the first time I'd ever done that, so I was really mad at myself. Luckily, I have overdraft protection through my bank, and I convinced the bank to reverse the fees. So no harm done at the end of the day. I still felt dumb, though.

Ugh, I did that when I signed up for autopay on our mortgage.  I totally forgot I signed up, so I scheduled a payment like I normally do...as soon as I realized I did that, I tried to cancel the payment but couldn't, so then I had to really quickly transfer money from savings to cover it so we wouldn't overdraw.  I was so stressed about that!  I decided that I didn't like the autopay thing, I like the comfort of knowing I scheduled the payment myself...weird I know.  But I pay the mortgage the day I get my second paycheck of the month so it works out better for us that way.. Anyways, my point is yes, I've done that and it stinks!

Don't feel bad, I did that too on my student loans for a couple months. The first one they told me it wouldn't go through in time so I paid manually and of course the auto pay kicked in as well. The second month, the autopay didn't go through on it's scheduled date so I quickly paid so I didn't get a late fee and sure enough the next day it withdrew the autopay. The 3rd time I paid accidentally without even thinking that I had autopay. Lukily I didn't overdraft on any of these mistakes and hey it will help pay the loan off that much earlier

Ugh- yes.  I've done that with just about every type of payment... With my knee surgery, I got my Q4 bonus right at the same time, and since I was going on Short Term Disability I was like oh I'll pay everything for the next few months now (instead of putting it into savings to be safe).... well sure enough I forgot I had paid everything and paid it again...

At least it's not like paying for an oil change twice, it's saving money in the long run.

Yah, I'm not as mad about it as I am frustrated at my inability to remember things!  Hehe.  

 Glad to know I'm not the only one this stuff happens to!
