"Hurricane Day" tomorrow!!!
Just in time for Fay!!! We have a hurricane day tomorrow! Just when we start school...hope it isn't too bad as it is my first hurricane in Florida!!
Re: "Hurricane Day" tomorrow!!!
Aww lucky you! We were GOING to get off, and then at 4:30, we got the "business as usual tomorrow" e-mail. BOOO. Would have been nice!
Enjoy your hurricane day!
Well, it isn't really a hurricane . . . yet!
Any of us who were here through Charlie, Frances, Ivan, and Jeanne KNOWS what a hurricane is. I am hoping I NEVER have to live through that again. (I am a Florida native and never ever thought a hurricane would make it's way to Orlando and do any damage . . . Charlie proved me wrong -- and then the others followed.
This won't be anything like those, but all the wind and rain isn't good . . . it is seriously is going to crawl across the state and stay way past its welcome.
DH got the "business as usual" email tomorrow too:(
This will be easy. We've had thunderstorms this summer worse than this storm is going to be. It's not even a hurricane, it made landfall as a tropical storm. No worries. Our last tropical storm, everything was closed but other than it being a bit windy and rainy, it was nothing. DH and I were off work so we went out to lunch (restaurants were still open) and than walked around the mall (also open).
This year our companies wisened up and decided not to close. They will probably close early this afternoon (2pm or so). You will see that for the most part, the hurricanes and tropical storms are nothing scary, it's just the tornados that accompany them that can get scary. And if you really get scared, you can always evacuate.
