I know we talked about this a while back but I can't remember what was said. I think this was a WHILE back. My old age doesn't do me any favors
On the topic of KONGs what size is recommended for larger dogs? Does the size matter?
Re: Dog treats/toys
Bella (lab, 75 lbs) has a large size Kong toy. It's big enough that she can't get it stuck in her mouth, but not so big that it's overpowering for her. She actually prefers toys she can fit mostly in her mouth and "bounce" them between her teeth (she's an odd one...). She just has the regular red one, and it withstands her tough chewing, but there's also a stronger one that's black.
LOL, just saw this:

Daisy is the same way with the "bouncing" she stands there and kind of juggles it around in there. She isn't the best fetcher in the world but boy she can she hands free juggle.
Thanks for the chart. lol
LOL I have no idea! I was wondering the same thing. I'm just gonna say it's a hyperactive, strong dog.
LAdmo gets the small kong cause hims a little man.
I stuff his with
his dry dog food mixed with peanutbutter
Pure (not pie mix) canned pumpkin mixed with whole rolled oats (not isntant oatmeal)
Next up I am going to do boiled smashed sweet potatos mixed with blueberries!
I think that may mean a dog that none-stop chews..maybe.
Snap likes the rawhide bones because he thinks he's getting somewhere by chewing it up. If it's a regualr chew toy he gets uninterested because nothing is happening to it.
hahaha he is spoiled! I made him 2 different kind of dog treats from scratch for xmas! And whenever I go to Einstiens Bagels on the weekends he gets a puppy bagel, and looooooooves them!
If you think Ladmo is spoiled, you should meet my MIL's dog, Tofu. Her dinner is cooked for her every night and she gets snacks like chopped up bananas during the day! It's actually kind of adorable because they weren't even sure they wanted a dog, but took in Tofu when we found her wandering the Tennis courts in Central Park . . . now they LOVE her.
of course it does......
I love love love Kong toys . . . they have a ton of diffferent sizes and shapes to choose from. My girls have large, xtra large and medium sized kongs. We also have some of the kong balls, the weird bouncy balls, footballs and barbell shaped kongs.
I love the idea of stuffing them, but beware that a lot of the recommended ingredients for the "recipes" can be fattening and also can upset your dogs tummy. I just stuff a dog cookie in ours and the girls love em.
As I type this I looked down and saw Bebe had picked up a Kong and was about to chew on it . . . who knew Kongs were for babies too?
