La Jolla hotels

Hi everyone,

We are planning to visit San Diego for a few days at the end of April and we want to stay in La Jolla.

Could you please recommend some nice hotels? We will be driving so the distance from the Zoo, Downtown is not an issue. We are looking at Estancia La Jolla and Scripps Inn but we maybe you have other suggestions.

Thank you

Re: La Jolla hotels

  • La Estancia is nice.  There is also the Hotel Parisi.  It is a boutique hotel in the heart of La Jolla.

  • For my wedding night my husband and I stayed at The La Jolla Inn (http://www.lajollainn.com/accommodations.htm) in their Junior Suite.  We stayed there again for our anniversary but in one of their view rooms.  The Junior Suite was nice and spacious...the View Room, not so much, it was very cramped.  They offer a nice continental breakfast and the location can't be beat.  It's a little less than the other hotels around...you might want to try it out!
  • Estancia is up at the top of the hill, so if you don't mind not being in downtown La Jolla, you can also look at The Lodge at Torrey Pines and the Sheraton La Jolla that's pretty much next door.  My parents & grandparents stayed at the Sheraton for my graduation and they really liked it.  Both have beautiful views.
  • For our wedding night, we stayed at Scripps Inn and loved it. It's a little pricier, but was worth it as we got married across the street at Cuvier Park. Our wedding guests stayed at The Empress hotel and really enjoyed it. They provide complimentary breakfast in the morning but are right by The Cottage which serves awesome breakfast; you definitely have to eat at The Cottage if you're staying in La Jolla. Around the corner is Burgundy Wine & Grill Bar where we had our rehearsal dinner; they've got great happy hour specials. La Valencia is a really nice hotel as well but very pricey.
