Re: HOLY CRAP!

  • Oh yaaaaa....it's the 10th....CRAZINESS!
  • It's funny to think we'll have a "first anniversary" this year considering this will be our 9th year together lol.

  • I know right? It's crazy and next month it will be half a year!  My husband is out of town tonight (he left early this morning) and this afternoon there was a knock at the door...he sent me flowers and chocolates!  We haven't done anything special for the 10th of each month, so this was a pleasent surprise!

same with us and we have two kids as well:)

  • For us, it was really weird.  Because we couldn't legally get married for the first eight years, we just started considering ourselves married.  When we got engaged, our Facebook status went backwards from "married" to "engaged."  And now we've gone from considering ourselves married for nine years to being married for five months.

That's so cute 2d! Anything to keep life interesting. Wink

On a side note, I am about to move to San Francisco from New York, and certainly have many gay friends and same -sex couple friends (including my very good friend Lauren and her new bride Trish who got married just before us), so I will continue the crusade to allow all people the right to marriage, not by another name, until it's not even an argument anymore. I wish you and your bride the best! (Wow, I've been meaning to say that since WAY back in our knot days!)

  • Thanks, kelnyc!  I am thrilled that our home state of Maryland now treats us as married--something that just happened last month.  I just hope that sometime in my lifetime, the feds and the remaining states will realize that the prohibitions on same-sex marriage are just as silly as the old ones on interracial marriage.  And yes, I'm old enough to remember when interracial marriage was even more controversial than same-sex marriage is today.
  • I can't believe it's been 5 months!  I'm still getting used to saying "my husband"... I said it to a co-worker last weekend and it still felt weird. :)
