I am visiting Chicago this weekend and have all day on Friday to explore the city while my BFF is at work. What do you suggest? Where should I shop? What should I do? TIA!!
Re: Visiting my BFF
I'll be downtown. I'll get off at Union Station and then just hang around the city.
Shopping Michigan Avenue is a given between Chicago Ave and the River.
If Jewelry's your thing, check out Jeweler's Row (a bunch of jewelry stores) on Wabash, just east and north of Union. Cash will get you the best deals there. The former Marshall Fields is also in that area.
You'll encounter some restaurants in that area - but is there something in particular you're looking for? Inexpensive? Pizza? Pub? Fancy? Posh?
Water Tower Place on Michigan Ave is a must & then make your way north for 900 N Michigan Ave building with more shopping
