Upsets almost across the board in the Big East yesterday

Georgetown beat Syracuse, Notre Dame beat Pitt, Marquette beat Nova.  The only remaining top-seeded team is WVU.

God I love this conference.

  • IKR?! Yesterday's upsets were insane! I was excited about the G-Town game since I'm a fan, but I love a good upset in general.

At least one of the big conference tourneys is interesting. Besides the 12 seed vs. 5 seed upset on opening day, the Big 12 tourney's been predictable. OSU got blown out last night [which made me mad], so I'm done with that tourney unless a KU-KState match-up comes along.

  • There was a nice upset in the ACC with NC State toppling Clemson (but I like Clemson so that's no good).  And some of the mid-major conferences have had some nice upsets too (Houston over Memphis, Ohio over Kent St., Standford over Arizona St...).

But, yeah, the Big 12 is a snore fest. Oh, look, the top 4 seeded teams advanced to the semis. Whoop-de-doo.  Big 10 and SEC look to be shaping up the same way.

SO looking forward to tonight's games.  I'm torn between wanting MU to win and wanting them to lose so they have a day or so to rest since we're most likely in the Dance now....

  • Some of the smaller conferences had some REALLY good championship games. I was surprised - and impressed.

Tonight's games should be awesome...this afternoon's, too. I can get ESPN360 at work, so I'm watching the Duke-Virgina game now.

Yes I was particularly happy to see Da'Sean Butler's buzzer-beater (WVU is my team). This is the one-year anniversary of the six-overtime game, and I wasn't looking for a repeat of last year. Stick out tongue

  • Miami (12 seed) also beat Wake (5 seed) yesterday in the ACC.

I would be okay with a GT upset of MD tonight.
