I have had some kind of doctors appointment every day this week. Wednesday was an orthopedic doctor to look at my knee that was hurt in the car accident Well, an MRI resulted from that appointment and it's scheduled for today.
I am freaking out. I am so nervous about it and I know it has a lot to do with being claustrophobic. I've never had anything like this done or know anyone who has, so I read up on it. That only made it worse -- I will most likely be getting a contrast injection.
Sorry I just needed to let it out. It's all I can think about today. I'm so nervous I can't even eat...
Re: Uggg, I'm freaking out
I'm pretty claustrophobic too, but I was able to make it through my MRI ok. I just focused on my breathing and tried not to think about it. They had a fan blowing inside and that helped a lot.
With my knee MRI back in 2002, they only put me halfway into the tube - feet first.
Ask if you can keep your head and arms out of the tube for the scan.
Good Luck, stay calm and it will be over quickly.

If you have to go all the way in just dont open your eyes! LOL
I am not really clostraphobic...but when I had my MRI, half way through I opened my eyes....I freaked for a second, but like Cassie said, just focused on my breathing
You'll be ok
Thanks girls!! It went well. Since it was just my knee, they put me in feet first and my head was sticking out. Plus, I was able to keep on my regular clothes and no injection needed *phew*.
I still paniced once bc I knew I coulnd't move and if something happened I was screwed. But overall I remained calm. Thanks for the replies, you really helped me chill out before it.
