It's Official!

So Nate and I visited Bakersfield last weekend, and he interviewed with his job, and it's official, we are moving to Bakersfield!!!

I am really excited, and a little nervous.  I love my job here and I am worried that I won't find something as enjoyable there.  I am sure I'll be happy with whatever livingsituation we end up in because what we have here in Utah is not ideal at all!

Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, and I guess you might be seeing me more often.  If you have any suggestions on where to live or placesd to look for work, let me know!

Re: It's Official!

  • Congrats on the move, and welcome to Cali!  This board is a little slow, but I do check it from time to time.  What kind of job are you looking for?  When are you moving?

  • Hello! I'm never on this board but I wandered over here today. Congrats on your move and welcome to Bakersfield! I was born and raised here ... I highly recommend living in the Rosedale area. One place you definitely DO NOT want to live is in Oildale ... kind of a scary place. ;) Seven Oaks is THE place to live, if you can afford it .... my family was never able to afford it, but the area is SO NICE. :) Again, welcome!
  • I agree with the post above...Stay sway from Oildale...Yucky! The SW and Rosedale are the nicest areas. Seven Oaks isn't the only nice place here in Bakersfield. It's way too pricey fo me, especially with how the market is here at the moment.  There are a lot of good communities and BAOR could help you to look for a place! Good luck!
