Digging up the yard ( water issue)

We recently bought our second home and have notice with all the heavy rain that the water is leaving our yard a huge mess. We have to dig up parts of the yard to run drains. Any tips?

Re: Digging up the yard ( water issue)

  • are you in new construction or existing? I called the city when they started building houses behind us and our yard was flooding. The developer paid to fix the problem.
  • It's existing. It runs off from the street down our driveway and it's in our yard. Lovely. DH and our friend who is a contractor is going to fix the problem.

  • If it is coming off the street into your driveway I would call your city's wastewater/stormwater department. They should fix it.
