Swim with the sharks in La Jolla
DH and I did the funnest thing this weekend so I thought I would share. We decided to rent kayaks in La Jolla to do something different and get outside with the great weather we have been having. We went to a kayaking store in La Jolla up the street from La Jolla shores beach. We found out that the leopard sharks are breeding now and so there are tons of them in about three feet of water! They are harmless to humans and are about 3-5 feet long. We rented snorkel gear and went swimming with them. The water was so warm, around 70-75 degrees and the sharks were so cool! There were so many of them! It was definitely one of the greatest experiences I have had in San Diego, and I have lived here 10 years.

Re: Swim with the sharks in La Jolla
That does sound like fun! I swam with sharks & rays in Belize and it did freak me out a bit (not the rays, but the sharks), but I'd love to do it again. 70-75 is still a bit cool for me (I'm a wuss), but maybe we'll have to check it out!!
Thanks for the heads up!
wow! amazing!
did you get pics?
Learning to start all over again... Blog
No, i did not get any pictures unfortunately.
SDgirl22, I was scared initially too. I didnt think I wanted to go in the water but then once I got in and saw how docile the sharks really were it was pretty amazing. I definitely reccomend doing this before the season is over.
