It's going to be a long night!
M is still sick and now the basement is taking in water (it's been raining since yesterday and is supposed to rain through till Tuesday.
We've got a sump pump but there's a big white pipe in the wall (don't ask what it's for, M knows, but I don't ask those questions) that was never properly sealed in when they built this place, and the water is pouring in. We have a big plastic tub under it now, and have 5 waiting to take its place as it will fill up quick.
Oh boy.
Re: It's going to be a long night!
I did get to sleep from about 2-ish till 600 thanks to M, he let me get some sleep, poor fella and he's the one who's sick but he insisted. He ran out to Napa this morning to get as many PIG mats and things of that nature that he could, he bought them out (not that they had much) and grabbed these barrier thingies too which have helped a bit. So far this morning it has slowed down a bit, which has helped. I took today off to help him out with it.
At least it's an extra day to spend together, so while we wait to have to go down and clean up some more, we're watching 1408.
I'm just glad our basement didn't get as bad as the IL's did. SIL told me she's walking around in boots. The laundry room/kitchenette, workshop, bathroom and most of the bedroom downstairs has water in it. Ours is just a section where that pipe is. M did the math and we've taken out somewhere around 300 gallons of water from the basement by keeping up with it. If we didn't we'd probably have at LEAST a few inches down there everywhere.
Glad you got some sleep! That's nuts, like the Today show said this morning, that storm should have had a name - it did more damage than some hurricanes and tornados.
I'm so sorry, Sheri! And your SIL has it worse?! Wow... We got a lot of flooding out here, but know it could have been much, much worse! ugh.
We only had some water get into our 'mud' room-which is normal.
I hope M is feeling better and you get some more rest!
Yikes dude!!!! Do you guys have stuff down there?? Do you have renters ins incase it gets damaged??
Sorry you had to deal with this, but ya for you and M getting to spend a extra day together.
