Bad luck with organic whole wheat pasta
I tried to safeway organic brand of spaghetti and i didn't like it. I was trying to be healthy, but the texture was weird.

Best sound ever: baby's heartbeat! (Heard @ 10w1d)
Whole wheat everything tastes and feels different from refined, processed, nutrition free white grains. IMO, ww was chewier and a little grainy tasting the first time I had it, but it wasn't enough to persuade me to go back to refined stuff. The next time we had it, there was nothing I could find different with it, and now, I actually perfer it! Whole grains are an easy, cheap way to improve your nutrition, you should give it another try!
And as pp said, you should cook it to the specs on the box, any type of inccorectly cooked pasta is a disaster!
We love this brand as well.
I'll have to try some of the brands mentioned here. DH and I tried WW pasta, and it was a total failure. The first time, we were like, "Okay, this is different...we'll get used to it." When it tasted just as terrible the second and third times, we gave up and went back to our white pasta. I suspected it might have been the brand, but last time was so awful that we haven't forced ourselves to try it again.
Now if someone can make some brown rice recommendations, we'll be set!
Try as I might, I can't get into eating brown rice.
My compromise is to do half brown and half white. Because of the cooking time differences, I give the brown a 20 minute (after the boil starts) head start, then add the white. Much more edible than plain brown rice.
I keep meaning to try some short grain brown rice, but I haven't wanted to add a 5th or 6th kind of rice to the pantry.
I've tried some brown rice pasta before. It has a lighter texture than WW.
I don't like the taste of brown rice in rice form. For healthier rice opti, I prefer wild rice.
