Composting F/U Question

I asked a couple weeks ago on my local and here as well about composting and getting started.  I saw a really helpful link a blog where the writer used a rigged-up Rubbermaid tub with holes drilled in it.

At the same time, I got word that our state's recycling organization will be selling discounted composters and rainbarrels to coincide with the annual Living Green expo.  Does anyone use an Earth Machine composter?  What are the pros/cons to using something like that versus going the Rubbermaid route?

Here's a pic of the composter I could get at a discount.  Any feedback would be great - TIA!

Re: Composting F/U Question

  • I think that's the one I have, it's got plenty of air holes and an opening at the bottom to scoop out the finished compost. I haven't had it very long, but it's fine. Nothing earth shattering, just a compost bin :) I got it for free as a hand-me-down, whether I'd pay for it would depend on the price difference.

  • That's the one I have. Works fine and I haven't tried anything else to compare it against.

  • That is what we have and we like it.
