I'm Here!

Only for house hunting though. Any recommendations on places for me to see or do. I am by myself and will be the Realtor tomorrow and possibly Wednesday but otherwise I am free until I leave on Thursday. Just looking at things to do to get myself acquainted with the area a bit. Thanks!!

Re: I'm Here!

  • Welcome to SA Mel! I moved here last Feb and also used teh boards to help acquaint myself with the area.

San Antonio is a huge city, I wish you best of luck with house hunting - I only had 5 days myself. Depending on where you are in the city, here are some of my fave places

The Shops at La Cantera - gorgeous outdoor mall, a bit pricey but great anyway just for the ambience

The Botanical Gardens are great but I'm not sure if things are blooming yet, since you only have a short amount of time. I'd recommend the Japanese Tea Garden nearby. It's free, quick and beautiful. You would never believe it was hidden away in the middle of San Antonio

Obviously the Riverwalk, they died it green over the week so if it looks a bit funky thats why. Fantastic place anytime of year and so nice to stroll along

The Quarry Market is another funky gem in the city. Its an old quarry that has been redone into an outdoor shopping center. It looks great at night too when its all lit up.

That's all I can think of, feel free to find me on my site (link in siggy) or on Twitter (@steet)

    See you soon,

    Stacy

  • Hello and Welcome to SA! DH and I moved here two years ago and we love it. Like Stacy said, I would also recommend The Shops at the Cantera, also on the other side there is the Rim and there is more shopping over there and a great movie theater, I also love the Quarry Market (shopping, dinner  and a movie). The Forum is also a good shopping center that I love to go to.

And of course you can't miss Downtown and the Riverwalk :)

    Good Luck to you :)
