Trash the dress or Rock the dress ideas
Hi all! I am starting the process of brainstorming some locations for this photo shoot and was wondering if you had any suggestions? Thanks!
Re: Trash the dress or Rock the dress ideas
Down Town Phoenix-there are tons of warehouse/run down/ train track type stuff if you are going for gritty
If you want fun, Maybe down town mesa, I love the mesa art center, its pretty cool
Doing stuff on and around the light rail at night could look cool!
I did mine with a group of girlfriends downtown. We started at Heritage Square and took photos there, by the Science Center, in the parking garage, on the streets and finished up at this railroad crossing just south of downtown.
It was amazing and our photos are insanely awesome.
Some of my photos are in my bio

One word of wisdom on Mesa Arts Center - we had our engagement pictures done there. It's a really neat place, with lots of cool things to photograph on/with. Just make sure you get approval with Mesa Arts before you go or they can kick you off the property We saw more than one group also taking photos that day that had problems with the guards.
Is was originally called Trash the Dress because you wore your wedding gown out doing something "messy" for a photo shoot. Many times they were trashed...ie jumping in bodies of water, playing with mud, rolling in the grass...etc.
Not a lot of people want to ruin their gown though, but would love to wear it again, so they call it Rock the Dress. The point is just to take some fun, original pictures in your gown.
Awesome, Thanks. I think i would rather rock my dress instead of ruin it. But having it preserved and then saving it forever doesn't seem that pratical either lol.
I am doing 2 sessions, the first one was here in downtown Phoenix. We took photos at the Herberger Theater, Civic Center, a couple parks in downtown and a couple churches. The pics were just a couple weeks ago so I am waiting for photos to come back. The 2nd session we will do in the fall in Sedona.
Those are great! Thank you for sharing those. I would love to do some water shots and was thinking that Sedona would be a great location for this, but I am just not sure where in Sedona. I would think some where along Oak Creek.
