Found a Bunny w/ broken leg
It's so sad. My dogs almost caught up to it.
It has a broken back leg. It doesn't look like it is bleeding, so maybe it has a chance of survival.
Our humane society works with the DNR, but they only treat the animal if I can catch it and bring it in. He's still too quick to catch safely. The police dept aminal control will only come if it is a nuisance animal.
I guess this little guy is on his own. I did put some carrots out (we feed the bunnies in winter - it keeps the woodchucks away) and he did make it back into the brush by the train tracks, so hopefully he'll be ok, or die in peace.

Re: Found a Bunny w/ broken leg
maybe you can set up a little trap to catch him so you can take him in???
Thats so sad
Poor wittle bunny
I wouldn't know how to trap him though. I can throw a blanket over and put him in a cat carrier...but I don't want to catch a wild animal disease from getting bitten now either.
Dh said he'd try when he gets home. I also posted on craigslist to see if there is a rescue group that has the right equipment to do it safely.

Poor little guy! I hope your DH can catch him so he can be rescued.
Karrey - lol, that made me giggle too!
Karrey-you'd better watch out... it could be the Easter Bunny trying to find you!
(and I'm laughing still at what you said!)
GL to catching the bunny and/or that it heals!
