Re: Anyone out there?
The whole thing sounds like an adorable romantic comedy or something - and I mean that in the best way possible! A husband and wife duo making maple syrup and recipes with maple syrup and wine with maple syrup...

I post on P&E a bit but he would have ruined it!
What gigantor post? I can't find what you're referring to. Was it filled with drama? Link me!

Hahaha, it would be hilarious if he was just a sleepy dude. No, he works overnights. PLUS he's in school now, so he goes straight there from work and does homework until 3pm or 4pm...which only leaves him a few hours to sleep. Poor guy.

pretty much, someone was talking about how shes inviting some people to the ceremony/dinner/dancing portion...and only some people to the ceremony and dancing...and said that the those people would have to get their own food somwhere else, and then show up later.
Her question was that she found some extra money..and there were 5 more people she would like to invite, but enough money for 3...HOW DOES SHE CHOOSE?
most people jumped on the fact that it was rude to treat some guests like they were valued, and some like they werent good enough for the whole party....then the girls sister created an account and started fighting back to everyone...

OMG, I'm saving that post for tomorrow, it's huge but it looks like a good time. I hope she tried to defend herself and dug herself a bigger hole.
Sometimes I really wonder where brides get ideas that these things are ok. Do they not have mothers, aunts, grandmothers to tell them that their ideas are rude and tacky?

the girl was pretty sweet, and said that it is very very common in her circle...and her biotchy sister said it was ok to do because she did it and blah blah blah...and then actually had the balls to tell everyone that she had a dry wedding, and people left her wedding to get drinks at the wedding next door..and didnt come back.
REALLY?? DID THAT HELP YOU AT ALL??
Weddings bring out the crazy, I swear!
My normally sane, good friend is getting married on September 18th (I'm a BM). Her FSIL is due with a baby the second or third week of August...and my friend doesn't think the baby should be allowed to come. I mean, SERIOUSLY? Is he/she really going to take away from your "big day"? I get not having kids, but a newborn??

goodnight ladies!!
ps..i just found a killer crock pot mac and cheese...hopefully i'll have that for the next sunday!!
IDK, I only read the first page, but I'm having a hard time believing that it's common in her area. It's Canada, not Mumbai or something.
I have no problems with dry weddings, it would be pretty rude for the guests to leave and not come back though.
We went to DHs "med school prom" Saturday and there were wedding guests coming over to our ballroom and dancing because apparently the wedding was lame. I saw the bride walking around a lot without her groom and she didn't look too happy.

Good night Melko!
And Noron, I agree, I always think newborns should be allowed and I'm pretty appalled by the brides who think they'll detract. Leaving a baby that young with a babysitter can be uncomfortable for parents and if he/she is breastfeeding he/she absolutely needs to be there!
Besides newborns don't run and scream like toddlers. Buh, some brides.

I know! PLUS it's her future niece/nephew. And his family isn't too fond of her anyway...this will NOT help at all. But she's on the verge of bridezilla,so I'll keep these opinions to myself. And to you girls.
Night, Melko!

Yikes! I'm afraid to click over there, I'll lose myself in teh dramas.
Noron, my H works the most ridiculous shifts. It would be one thing if he worked all overnight, but he tends to work Sunday 3-11, Monday overnight, Tuesday and Wednesday off, Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday 3-11. And it's subject to change at a day's notice. Boo.

Hahaha, I've really thought about that...but then I fear she might find threads like this!
Plus, she's not very computer-savvy, so it might scare her off. OR make her more stubborn in her decisions.

Wow, that's nuts! What does he do, if you don't mind my asking?
I take comfort in knowing that this is only temporary for H...he'll be getting his teaching degree in December of 2011. And he'll have to quit his job to student teach THIS December, unless he finds a flexible PT job sooner (*fingers crossed*)! I'm TOO excited about it.

Haha, not that I know of. A couple girls I know from HS got engaged and I told them to get on TK because the message boards helped me a ton when I got engaged (and they did, and I honestly recommend it for everyone) but I don't think anyone has signed up.
The one girl has have an over 2 year engagement and she's already picked her WP so I think she could probably benefit from the boards in the future.

Haha I like Panda's idea. Just direct her to P&E.
He works for a tv network company, they house a few different networks like A&E, History Channel. He's a network coordinator for 2 sports networks, one of which is ESPN's online streaming, so he has to cover stuff like cricket in Bangladesh. Blech. He applied for a new position that would be 4 10-hour ovenrights in a row and then 3 days off, which might be better?Working that job for a year would mean he'd have a broader skillset so we could hopefully find jobs a little easier once we decide to move back up towards Boston. So we'll see!
What does your H teach?
