Who would be interested in a online weight loss challenge?
Hey there,
Now that things are finally winding down, I need to get back into weight loss mode. I've heard of online challenges and figured if anyone else was interested this was something we could do as a group. Is anyone interested? We can all join forces and figure out how to start and help motivate each other.
We can post things like weekly weigh ins
daily food journal post
and share healthy recipes
Thoughts?
Re: Who would be interested in a online weight loss challenge?
I'm in! I've got 10 lbs to hit pre-pregnancy and another 15 to go to look decent in my sister's wedding in July.
I had been good about counting calories, but after I lose 5 lbs or so...I get sloppy and think I can just guesstimate them.
Like Yocy, I also need motivation to workout...especially the tummy area.
I also need motivation to go to the gym...I haven't been to one in over a year yikes!!!
I count calaries ever so often, but like Virginia said I get sloppy after I lose a few pounds!!!
I don't know how good I'd be with keeping up with an online system of tracking, but I'm all for supporting and motivating each other!
Awesome! So what it sounds like is we need more motivation with the working out part. So lets take a poll and figure out a way to keep us motivated.
Here are some I was thinking about.
1. Gym scavenger hunt: We can still keep track of our routines, but it could be fun to do a scavenger hunt in the gym. ie find a picture of someone wearing blue shorts or pink top. Or see who can find the funniest workout outfit of the day. This could t least be enough motivation to get you into the gym. lol
2. Challenge ourselves to certain workouts. ie walk a mile, do 50 crunches, etc.
3. For those of you who are interested we can keep a daily food post. We just post what we ate the previous day.
Any other ideas

Love the ideas. I dont belong to a gym anymore, though. So Im relegated to walks with the baby or workout dvds.
I'm motivated already - did a 20 min walk with my 16 lb baby strapped to me in his carrier!
I like a daily food post and weekly exercise post....
this would be awsome!!
i need motivation to get up early and workout in the am because i dont know if it happens to anyone else...but getting out of work at 530p and getting home 40 min later exhausts me!!!
but this is great...when do we start?
Big Time SLACKER here!!!!! I definitely need motivation. Great ideas so far! When do we start?
This is great! Sounds like many of you are interested.
We'll start on Monday, but come up with a few ideas for posting and post it by Friday.

I'm in. I don't belong to a gym, but wanted to do the C25K program (couch to 5K) http://www.c25k.com/
Also, I have a food journal as well since I'm a snacker and boredom eater. I've looked into this site to help me make healthy and realistic goals on what to eat: http://www.mypyramid.gov/mypyramid/index.aspx
