Home Security Systems

We are considering adding a home security system and are just starting our research.

1. What company do you use?

2. Did you go with wireless?

3. Opinions on any of them?  Good, bad, and ugly?

TIA!

Re: Home Security Systems

  • 1) Broadview aka Brinks

    2) Ours runs through our phone line

    3)  We love them.  We've used them since 2006 (in CA for most of that time) and haven't had any issues with them.  Their service seems to be a bit slower here in FL, but I think that has to do with the area.

  • I sent you a PM.  Big Smile

  • We have Guardian. We think they are very over-priced ($53 a month with voice, $43 without voice - a person will come over a loudspeaker in case of emergency) and we're planning on switching soon. They came to our house to give us a quote and told us that they had bought the company that we had at the time. Silly us believed them....
Warning No formatter is installed for the format bbhtml
  • oh - and it goes through a landline, which is pretty much the only reason we have a home phone, so we'd save even more if we switched..

Broadview is only $36/month.  :)  Just so you know their price if/when you switch.  :)

  • Thank you for the responses!
