Does anyone do any March Madness pools?
DH and I have our own and see who wins or is the closest in the end.
This year is exciting cause Lehigh is playing! They're like... last in the group, but that's okay... They're on the sheet! (against... gulp, Kansas)
FWIW-I'm sooo not into sports... not B-Ball
Re: March Madness...
DH's office does one every year and I always participate. It's $10 to enter, and the first one out gets their money back, the 2nd place person gets $20 or $40 (can't remember) and 1st place gets the rest. I won the first or second year I played and came in 2nd the year after that. (Haven't won since!)
It's pretty satisfying to beat a bunch of engineers and sports nuts at something like this- esp. using my girly system of "I like this team better than that team".
My office does one. Last year I participated...meaning my name went in, but it was DH who put together the brackets. He was doing really well for most of the tournament last year, and I kept getting people asking how I was doing so well. I had no idea what they were talking about. I'm such a girl haha! I think DH has been banned from his brother's offices' pool because he won like 4 years in a row. I put together a bracket one year just to make DH happy and make him feel like I was participating in his sports thing (I'm not into sports at all), and I was doing so well and would've had a crazy good bracket w/no-name teams winning until some stupid player made a mistake and cost me the rest of the bracket. Oh well LOL!
ETA: Oh yeah, and my "strategy" for picking teams was whether I liked the name of the school, their colors, and/or their mascot. Talk about being a girl...
I pick ones I think are interesting...
I think Gonzaga has a head coach that reminds me of the dad from the orig 90210 tv show... so I pick them! (but they're pretty good) sometimes, I go for the underdog...
Woo Hoo! go Bruins! (even though you suck right now) CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP U...C...L...A... U-C-L-A Fight Fight Fight
We're not really into March Madness... but I will be a baseball widow on Saturday while J is at the Fantasy draft.
