Anyone have any recs for architect and/or custom home builder?
Not a box house builder....we have our plans pretty much done, just need a little help finishing, and someone to help build it.

Where in Wisconsin? I think I remember that you're in the Grafton area?
Check out Thierfelder Builders. They build beautiful homes and are very, very nice. We do some work for them on occasion. They are located in Cedarburg.
I'd also recommend H&R. He's a good friend of the family and helped us GC our house. Nice guy. Smaller builder, does a lot of condos.
My personal feeling is that some of the bigger name custom home builders can be a ripoff. They build lovely homes, but way overprice things. JMO.

Orendorf Custom Homes in Pewaukee. Or Galaxy Builders is a woman-owned small business. We GC'd ourselves as I've worked for home builders for many years and yes, they are overpriced. They are willing to work with you more now just because of the economy. Smaller builders have less overhead & hype. Be carefull having your house plan bid out by too many builders - the subcontractors get sick of seeing the same plan over n over from several builders. The price goes up when they're irritated.
