CD (MIL) annoyance.

every since MIL left Jack's diapers have had slight issues - they have a lingering wet dog scent after coming out of the dryer.  2 loads ago I watched the whole cycle and could tell there was still bubbles in the rinses.  4 rinses later it was only slightly better.  I couldn't figure it out - I had not did anything different.

DH suggested I clean the washer (guess he knows his mom better than me) so I ran a clean cycle.  HOLY bubbles!!  I run the clean cycle every once in a while (and did it days before Jack's birth) and have never seen that many bubbles.

She only did one load of wash when she was here - towels and sheets they used during their visit.  First, I know she must have used the random fabreeze Tide we have for DH's basketball team's uniforms because the towels have strong scent, but how much did she dump in there?!?!   She herself has a front loader so I know she should be familiar with the lower amt. of detergent needed...  Nothing else is different, so I know that must be the issue, especially since I did a diaper load RIGHT after her sheets/towels load. grrr

So today I went and bought some disposables to put on Jack while I washed ALL of the diapers and now I'm still rinsing.  Hope this works and I won't need to do the stripping routine or anything.

Re: CD (MIL) annoyance.

  • yikes, sorry about that. even w/our regular clothes now, i use less detergent in our front loader.  if your extra rinses don't work then try emailing stephanie at abbyslane at aol.com - she is great about helping you problem solve things like this since stripping isn't particularly recommended/good for CDs. she has been great at answering all of my CD questions :)
  • Boo!  That sucks.  I know with my mom I have to constantly remind her that we're only using a quarter sized amount of detergent for our CDs.  She always asks if that's enough and I assure her that it is...
