Another nursing program starting up...

Bradley University is starting an accelerated BSN for those with a bachelor's degree already. 15-month long program, starts in May. I saw this on WEEK Channel 10 news tonight. I emailed for information...

Why can't a school either in the QC or in central Illinois create a direct-entry Master's program?? THERE IS A NEED! Sometimes people don't want to go to Chicago for school, ya know?

Re: Another nursing program starting up...

  • Millikin in Decatur has the PACE program. If I were to get my RN at a community college, I could get my BSN going something like one night a week for 18 months or something like that.

  • I checked out the Millikin website... they have a direct entry Master's program! That is AWESOME! I totally wish one of the schools in the Peoria/B-N or Quad Cities area would do that.

Today is a day where I am not sure which program I will go to... Bradley's new ABSN (although it would be May 2011 before I start), Methodist program (start Jan 2011, graduate Aug 2012, same as Bradley), or stick with the ASN at the community college (albeit would be May 2013, IF I get in on the first try).

Decisions, decisions. Registration for the community college is April 5th, so I need to hurry up, yet again.

  • Don't you sometimes feel as though you'll never finish school? Because that's certainly how I feel most days.

I take the TEAS exam on April 17th for CASPN.  I should know in the beginning of May whether or not I got in... which sounds scary... I could know in just over a month if I'm going to nursing school this fall.

  • Yes I feel like I will never finish- part of the reason I just want to do the Bradley 15 month program now to be done in the quickest amount of time (actually enrolled in school that is).

    Good luck!

  • Last night, a resident asked why I put up with "this garbage" [[as in, why am I a CNA]]

    My answer?

"Because in the state of Illinois, you have to be on the state healthcare worker registry before you can go to nursing school"

And then I ran away before he asked any other questions.
