Moving to LA :)
Hi everyone!
DH and I are moving this summer from South FL to LA from for his career. He is in the music business and most of the people we know over there live in West Hollywood, so we will need to move to that area or near there.
Do you know of any specific areas in West Hollywood or around there that are good to rent? I have loved at some places online in Santa Monica, but they are a bit pricey.
Also, if anybody has any realtor recs, that would be great.

Congratulations on your move! I'm also from South Florida (Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale area).
My two cents - I live in Santa Monica and I really like it. I couldn't imagine living here without being on the west side, and I can't really deal with Hollywood. My SIL lived in West Hollywood for a while...it's too congested for me...but it is definitely cheaper. It'll also make sense if your husband or you work in that area so you won't have to commute that much. However, with the economy being what it is, a lot of places have been lowering rents or giving pretty good rental concessions, and Santa Monica is a good place to go to take advantage of that because of rent control.

Crasian, how funny that you are from the same area! My DH and I went to high school in Hollywood and now we live in Aventura.
I would love to live in Santa Monica honestly. I am not thrilled about the West Hollywood area, but DH wants to be near where everyone he knows lives and works. I have been trying to sway him, but I don't think it's going to work. We'll see though!
That is so funny you went to high school in Hollywood, so did I! I graduated from Hollywood Hills in 2001, and went to Sheridan Hills Elementary and Olsen Middle before that
. My husband and I (before we were married) lived in Ft. Lauderdale.
West Hollywood might not be so bad...I usually only went to Aventura for the mall, but I'm sure it's more metropolitan than Hollywood, FL - so you might be better prepared to live in a busier area. I really got used to living in suburbs on the east coast, which is why I think I like Santa Monica so much. But you guys will get a better sense of the neighborhoods once you move here. I hated CA for the first year I was out here, but now I really can't think of a better place for us to live.
