16 and pregnant

What did everyone think? I felt like baby's daddy was just trying to stir up trouble... for no real reason. And every time the girl had decided on what she wanted to do, he had a small breakdown. I also thought her parents were a little overbearing in that they kept calling him and asking him things, but maybe it was for the best?

Re: 16 and pregnant

  • I watched it this morning (I love my DVR).  I was frustrated with her parents for being so overbearing on the whole "you have to go with adoption" speech.  In the end, though, I do think it was the right decision.  She didn't even have a 'plan' on what to do if she brought the baby to a home (since it seemed like coming back to her home wouldn't be an option).  I also thought the baby's dad was trying to stir up trouble.  If he was really serious about keeping the baby then he should've made a plan.  He claimed his family was supportive and would've helped but he never (apparently) took advantage of it.

I think this is an interesting show, but do these kids not realize what causes teen pregnancy?  I mean, seriously.  Yet I keep watching it.  What did you think of the preview for next week's episode.  Definitely looks like a hot mess.

  • I think they had a point, her parents said they would love to be grandparents, but not parents again.  They know more than she does what responsibility a baby is BUT I think they should have let her have a little more say in the decision.  I can see why she was frustrated, being adopted and having her only blood related family member (she knows of) being taken away.  It was the best decision though, those two were not ready to parent it seemed.

  • The only question I had about the baby-daddy was, how old is he? He was going to the bar to drink so he is at least 21...he was so incredibly immature!

They were incredibly overbearing, but they were right. They did not want to be parents again and they definitely would have if she had kept the baby.

Next week's episode is already freaking me out, the way she is screaming like crazy during labor...maybe I'll skip that one.

Haha that scared me too, but this girl made labor look like a breeze so that counts for something maybe?!
