The people in this world, seriously...

My home office was broken into yesterday morning between 6 and 8 AM. Cox confirmed when my modem went offline. The main house wasn't broken into. I was already at work and Jamie was home alone. I have to think that they waited for her to leave for work and broke in between 730 and 8. They took my TVs, my stereo system, all my computers in my office, my hard drives and my back-up hard drives with all my music files, music scores, marching band drills, business documents, and student files. The equipment doesn't bother me as much as all my files. All our pictures and everything were on those drives. The stole electronic equipment that is more than 10 years old and left the thousands of dollars of musical instruments and hardware. This destroys my business. I don't know how I am going to come back from this. All my compositions, research, and students files are gone... What the fluck is wrong with people?!

Soo sorry this happened to you! I'm not sure where you live but I know for sure that BRPD and EBRSO, keep track of the stolen property in a database and compare it to the property that is sold in pawn shops.  I know this doesn't make you feel better about the situation but maybe they were just looking for a quick buck and if they pawn it they should be able to cross reference it with your serial numbers.

bear - I'm so sorry about this. I know it's not the stuff it's the intellectual property that is irreplaceable. I wish I could help. Can you get previous compositions from the schools? Still even transcribing that back in is a nightmare. Is there anything that can be done in the future for loss? Like backing up online or something.

In my non professional opinion, sounds like kids to me. How would they know that all of that was in there? especially since there isn't a huge monetary value on the property itself. MT, PI at your services.

I'm so sorry to hear this.  Over the past six months we've been robbed twice and have had at least 3 other attempts that we know of.  My neighborhood has been having problems for months now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better.  We even have private police patrol and that doesn't help.  We visited several local pawn shops and never had any luck recovering the items.  If you don't have a security system, get one!  I did and it makes me feel just a tiny bit safer. Again very sorry you are going through this and hopefully you can find some of your items.

I'm so very sorry! I really hate this for you and for all of your hard work.

 Ours was broken into while we were at work a couple of years ago. It was the absolute worst feeling. Now I don't run to the corner without setting the alarm. I hate thinking like that, but no way am I going through that again.

It was kids in our neighborhood. They have caught a few of them here and there. The oldest one I've heard of is 17. There is not a severe enough punishment for these guys IMO.

little late to this, but just wanted to say how sorry I am for yall... my apt got broken into when i was in college and I dont know what was worse, the stuff getting stole, or knowing that my privacy had been totally violated. it sucks. I hope they catch who did this and you get your stuff back
