Hi there,
I have some phlox out in my garden that I would like to transplant to an area not far from where it is now. I'm wondering how early I can do this without hurting it.
I live in SE Michigan (zone 5), today it is a beautiful day with highs in the 60's and low's above freezing but not much. The weather this time of year usually averages out to about 45 (Monday it's suppose to snow) so this is sort of a 'heat wave' for us. By the end of this week it will be getting back to a normal temp range.
I would like to transplant it today but obviously won't if it's too early and will kill my plant. Would it be best to wait until the last frost?
TIA
p.s. I don't know if it matters but I have had the phlox planted in it's current spot since last Spring.
