fuzzy eyes

So, I have a confession. The only thing that I don't like about using coconut oil for makeup remover is that it leaves my eyes feeling fuzzy afterward. Does anyone have any recs for avoiding this?

Re: fuzzy eyes

  • lol...fuzzy?? You wipe it off right? Do you mean fuzzy like it or lint is on your lashes, or like blurry because you got oil in your eyes?

  • yes of course i wipe it off! they feel blurry like there is oil in my eyes. i've had this problem with some traditional cream eye makeup removers too. i can't seem to rid myself of the fuzzy.. and i'm definitely trying!

  • Maybe you need to hold your eyelids tighter when you do it? I've gotten oil in my eyes a few times doing it, but normally don't.

  • yeah, but i wear more eye makeup than you too. i scrunch my eyes together pretty tightly... lol. this is kind of a funny problem to have.

  • I'd rinse with saline drops afterward (or is that something you've already tried?).

  • I've tried putting drops just in my eyes afterward, but I could try actually rinsing. I really don't want to have to go back to traditional eye makeup remover, but it's driving me nuts.

  • Is it the fuzzy feeling from getting oil on your eyelashes?

Some people think castor oil makes eyelashes grow longer, fwiw.  But anyway if it's like what I'm talking about, I usually just use my regular towel to make sure my eyes are extra un-oiled.  I've used different things in the past to take off the cream (cotton, tissues, washcloths, maybe microfiber?) and none of them seem to work as well as my regular old towel.

I think it's an oily film over her eyes.  I get it from allergies, but usally saline or medicated eye drops work.  Different mechanism, though.

Some people think castor oil makes eyelashes grow longer, fwiw.  That surprises me... i accidentally got cator oil on my eye area (i usually use jojoba, which is fine there) and my eyes were super puffy the next morning.  I looked (and it felt) terrible.  Glad that doesn't happen for everyone!

  • Could you wash afterward? Like w/ a cleanser that contains a mild surfactant to help remove the oil? I have had to do this in the past after using an oil-based eye makeup remover.
