We're going to Disneyland
I am so excited about this! Scarlett and I are going on April 30th with my mom, sisters, neice and nephew. I've lived on the same street as the darn place for a year and haven't been this whole time (too preggers, too busy).
I just bought a lightweight, lined, crossbody purse but much smaller that will be perfect, since I will definitely need both hands free. I think I might get an umbrella stroller with a canopy...or rent one there. I also have a front carrier that she might still fit into by then.
Any advice for taking a 9 month old to a theme park?
Re: We're going to Disneyland
We are doing the same thing on April 24th . . . I agree with the sunblock.
I'm going to pack a backpack instead of the diaper bag, but I'm taking her big stroller because it reclines so she can nap in it. I don't think she would be very comfy in a lightweight umbrella stroller at this age.
I'm going to put a hat on her, and keep her in lightweight pants and a shirt to prevent sunburn. I'm also taking extra warm clothes to change into that night.
So much fun!
A: That's my birthday so think of me
B: Make sure you and Scarlett are comfy with the carrier if you plan on using it. I tried ours on when Hunter was about 3 months and it hurt both of us, so I invested in a beco carrier which is sooo much more comfy. Not that we ever use it as he is opposed with his exersaucer and cries when we take him out of it.
Oooh, fun! No baby advice, but I bet you guys will have a great time.
One of my friends has been taking her son to Disney World since he was around 6 months old b/c her in-laws live nearby. He loved just being pushed around the park in his stroller and looking at everything.
A few years ago I bought a small backpack at Busch Gardens (when DH and I went there while dating). It was relatively inexpensive, but it's perfect for when we go to a theme park- DH will wear it so I am not responsible for backpack duty all day long, it fits essentials like camera, sunblock, poncho or lightweight jacket, wallets, etc. I'd recommend something like that b/c it has 2 straps so its better for your back.

Agree with Katie on the big stroller b/c it reclines and the napping will be better/easier. But if you do buy an umbrella stroller, make sure the handle height is good for you and DH- my nephew's has short handles and its really only comfortable for the short people in my family to push. Also, make sure you put a tag with your name on it (in your case I'd put your first name) b/c I'm sure there will be someone else with the same stroller and you don't want walk off with the wrong one.
Woot! There is a blog somewhere, as well as info on the Disney website, I believe, about visiting the park with little ones. . .
All I can say is to take advantage of the rides, because you can go on while someone holds the baby, and they can then jump on as soon as you are off, without having to stand in line again. You probably knew that though
.
We're using our 2fers to go to CA Adventure this Friday. We took an OOT friend and her boys to Disney a few weeks ago, and didn't even realize it was 2fer time!
