Infant bathtubs

So Austin is getting a bit big for the infant sling for the bathtub we have for him...I keep having to scootch him up on the sling every time he starts kicking and having a good time....it so frustrating because he isn't old enough to sit up yet....what did you do/use for this stage??

Jeanette - didn't you recommend a tub once?

Re: Infant bathtubs

  • i had the infant to toddler tub with the hammock. He went from the hammock to the reclining side, and then to the sitting up side.

  • Buy the Prima tub by Eurobath.  They sell it at BRU and it has a side for reclining and a side for sitting up.  It is the biggest baby tub I could find and her should be able to use it until he is ready to sit in the regular bathtub.  :)

  • do you think it's reasonably priced for the short length of time we'll be using it though?  I'm having a similar situation w/ Alyssa.  She is starting to outgrow her infant bathtub but isn't ready for the regular tub - right now we've got her reclining in her infant tub and then we move her to our rubbermaid tub where I hold her as she sits up and leans forward.  I think she likes that better than her tub!!  But she's getting big for that too ...
  • I used this for Jude from about 4 mos until a little over a year.

Cheap, simple - and the sides are thick, so even though he couldn't sit up unassisted yet, even if he fell to the side he wasn't going anywhere. ?I definitely kept my hands on him at all times in the beginning, but it worked out so great and I used it up until he really started to get too big - now we just use the tub.

    ?

  • The tub I recommended was the Prima- the same one Jenny said. ?I love, love, love it!!!!!!
  • I did what Heather did.  Removed the sling after a few months & used the reclining side.  O loved it b/c he was more in the water & could splash & play more.  Then moved to the sitting side.  We stopped using the infant tub & went to the regular tub around 7 months, when we was able to sit really well independently.
  • We also have the Prima and love it!  We used that tub right up until Brianna turned 1, so you will definately get your money's worth!  = )
  • Thanks ladies...we have a safety 1st one that my SIL gave us that has the reclining slide (I shouldn't have said infant sling)....and he keeps sliding down it and I find it very hard to wash him....I'll look into the ones you all mentioned if it starts to be too much...thank you!
