NCAA Eligibility

This is a long shot but worth asking: Does the NCAA have a minimum SAT score to be eligible for sports scholarships?  If so does it differ between Division II and II?

TIA!

Re: NCAA Eligibility

  • Here are the NCAA eligibility standards.

For Division I, there is a sliding scale for GPA/test scores (SAT or ACT). The higher your GPA is, the lower your test scores can be. The way they report ACT scores is weird to me, because I am used to looking at composite scores (max 36). The numbers on the chart are a sum of the scores for each of the four sections.

There is no sliding scale for D-II.

The minimum core grade-point average is 2.000. The minimum SAT score is 820 (verbal and math sections only) and the minimum ACT sum score is 68.

  • I am not sure which divisions you are asking about since you initial post just says D-II, but there are no sports scholarships in D-III.
